About the Author
Janet Romich, a longtime veterinarian, teaches a variety of science-based courses at Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wis., where she was honored with the Distinguished Teacher Award in 2004 for use of technology in the classroom, advisory and professional activities, publication list, and fundraising efforts. She is also an IACUC member for a hospital research facility and received the Wisconsin Veterinary Technician Association's Veterinarian of the Year Award in 2007 for her contributions to the education of veterinary technician students and in promoting the use of veterinary technicians in the workplace. Dr. Romich is also the author of FUNDAMENTALS OF PHARMACOLOGY FOR VETERINARY TECHNICIANS, 2e and UNDERSTANDING ZOONOTIC DISEASES as well as a co-author on DELMAR'S VETERINARY TECHNICIAN DICTIONARY. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Science degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She remains active in veterinary practice through her relief practice, where she works in both small- and mixed-animal practices.

Excellent book - read before Exams!

This is a fine text for the subject. It is very thorough in content, well organized, has self test questions with some answers, and includes a CD if you prefer the computer to the paper. The content is almost overwhelming, expecially for just in 1 semester. I would like to have more time to read this book slowly and digest it. I will not be re-selling mine; will go over again before National Board Exam. Also tells you how to read a prescription and calculate dosages based on percentages, reading labels, review of the metric system, etc. The reading is informative, a little bit dry, but certainly manageable. Worth the price as a new book.

A Guy's Perspective on "The Broken Way"

"The Broken Way" is a guide into abundant life through self-sacrifice.

A logical progression from Ann's first book, The New York Times best-selling "One Thousand Gifts," this new book answers the question "How do you live with your one broken heart?"

Let me pause here to say that I am probably one of the few men who have read this book. This doesn't give me any more credibility than anyone else, but it does provide a rarer perspective on this book. Ann has struck a chord with women because she writes so vulnerably and openly about pain, loss, grief, and the thousand trials and joys of home life. Our culture--to its loss--seems to discourage men from probing their emotions, evaluating their relationships, or spending reflective time considering the state of their heart and their soul. This is a tragedy which can be overcome one man at a time.

"The Broken Way" is not just for women and it is not just for stay-at-home parents--it is for anyone who has experienced brokenness; anyone who needs to learn how to live with a broken heart, not just limping through life, but living joyfully and abundantly. It is for anyone who believes that Christ is the Great Physician and that He Himself is our peace. It is for both women and men.

I read widely and this is one of just two or three books which has helped me to change the way I live even while I'm still reading it. How do we live with our one broken heart?

Her first book 1000 gifts helped me through the journey with cancer with my 14 year old daughter...this book The Broken Way, is helping me live without her and allows me to be honest about my brokenness. Everyone is broken, hurting, dealing with loss and disappointment...how do we live with a broken heart? Give it away...
I highly recommend this book for you and for anyone in your life that needs help healing and encouragement. Ann brilliantly and poetically crafts profound and inspiring words in a way that pierces and comforts your heart all at once.

Blessings come from brokenness

All of my life I have felt broken because of all the pain inflicted on me. I considered myself to be ugly, defeated, and stupid because of my brokenness. So I lived my life as a useless broken woman. That is, until I read TheBrokenWay.
AnnVoskamp writes in such a descriptive way that she draws you into her story of brokenness and she opened my eyes to realize how God uses our broken story for His glory.
I no longer feel ugly when a situation breaks me, I feel blessed with anticipation to see how God makes all things new.
AnnVoskamp changed my life with her book AThousandGifts and now she's transformed my thought process with TheBrokenWay.

Gorgeous pictures, but not what my school uses

I'm a 1st year medical student at a school that is pretty dedicated to Netter's, with Clinically Oriented Anatomy (Moore) as a supplement. I bought The Theime atlas because the presentation of some of the information was organized a little more to my way of learning. For example, the innervation of the limb muscles is laid out in charts that I seem to process more easily than what's in Moore. The pictures are beautiful. Netter was no slouch, the work is amazing, but the plates in Netter's are more painted and artistic compared to the clean, sharp lines of this atlas.

The biggest downside to buying this is that it is not what our school uses, so references in presentations and note packages are all to the Netter's plates, leaving you to dig for corresponding plates in Theime. I'm happy I bought it, but it may be overkill for some.

Simply the best anatomy atlas out there

I owned the first edition of Thieme's atlas and used it for my first year of anatomy in medical school. The illustrations, artwork, and level of detail were incredible and so elegant they made you want to keep learning anatomy. Due to how impressed my classmates and I were, I decided to get the 2nd edition as well when it released in May 2012 from the publisher's website. It fixed several errors/inconsistencies from the first edition, and has added new sectional anatomy slides at the end of each unit, and more of those important clinical correlations. Also, the Abdomen and Pelvis/Perineum are now two separate sections, rather than one combined "Abdomen & Pelvis" section, providing more emphasis for each. The organization of each section is very precise, starting with surface anatomy and then followed by the bones, muscles, blood vessels, lymphatics, nerves, and a topographical summary of each given area. Finally I just have to comment one more time how absolutely BEAUTIFUL each picture is, the illustrators clearly made a painstaking effort to make sure each drawing was as realistic with the shadings and clarity as possible. Get this for Med school!!

This book is the best that is out there. It doesn't make you dizzy with a million things labeled on one picture. There are some pictures that have an emphasis on certain things and therefore they are labeled. The things that aren't labeled are emphasized elsewhere. Example: for joints there is a section naming just the ligaments, and there is another section that labels the bony structures the ligaments attach to.

Andromeda Falling

I was waiting for this one! Kris Norris (once again) did an amazing job taking sci-fi and making it erotic, exciting and fun. A great read for any fans of the genre out there. Just beware of the trolls!

Linc is what's known as a runner. He takes supplies to places that are in need. He's the captain and crew of his ship (Andromeda) and has been for some time. This changes what he crashes; sorry I mean crash lands, on a dangerous planet and runs smack into a lost love.

Gwen has taken a different path in life than any expected of her. What was she to do when the love of her life leaves her high and dry? Life just went on for her... Little does she know there's more to it all than she thinks. Life and the why's to why she was left by the man she loved(s). Could it be he never TRULY left her after all?

An excellent addition to the series that can be read as a stand-alone. I look forward to what the author will bring us next! Will there be another in the Dark Horizon series? I hope so :)

About the Author

Clarence C. Rodrigues, Ph.D., is currently the Health Safety Environment (HSE) manager for the Petroleum Institute (part of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company - ADNOC) in Abu Dhabi. He was previously a tenured, full professor in the college of aviation and the program chair for the BS in Safety Sciences degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Stephen K. Cusick, J.D., is Associate Professor of Aeronautics at the Florida Institute of Technology, College of Aeronautics in Melbourne, Florida and a member of the university graduate faculty for its Masters Degree program in Applied Aviation Safety. A former U.S. Navy Captain, flight instructor, and Naval Aviator, he is an active pilot with multi-engine, instrument, and helicopter flight ratings from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Book review for an excellent safety book

As the Vice President for Safety for a large Aviation University I can truly say that Dr. Rodrigues and J.D. Cusick really did a fantastic job with this book. If you think of any aspect of aviation safety they have captured the concept and delivered an excellent and unbiased presentation on how to use the model.

They really did their research in presenting new concepts from Safety Management Systems (SMS) to Human Factors models. I think this book has something for everyone, I really liked chapter Thirteen, "Aviation Safety Management Systems". They did a great job in presenting the major components of SMS in an intelligent and concise manner.

This book is truly a vital element to any safety library.

Selling academic textbooks that cannot be cited is a horrible way to make money off customers

How can you publish an academic textbook without page numbers? How do you expect me to perform in-text citations of "Kindle locations?"
Kindle locations are not legal in accredited academic institutions.

Where does it say in the pre-purchase description of this product that this eBook does not use page numbers.
